What are Individual eyelash extensions?

They are individual eyelashes bonded one-to-one on your natural lash to extend your lashes.

What are Russian volume eyelash extensions?

This technique involves the technician to create hand made fans during the set and then apply the fan to one single isolated natural lash. With this technique, I can create fans ranging from 2D-8D, depending on the desired look and health of the natural lash.

What are Hybrid eyelash extensions?

This is a combination of both individual and Russian volume techniques. The set will include a mixture of individual eyelash extensions and Russian volume fans.

How long will my eyelash extensions last?

Generally your eyelash extensions will last up to 6 weeks until they completely naturally shed with your natural lashes. We recommend you have your infill appointment every two-three weeks to keep the extensions at their fullest.

What are semi-permanent eyelashes made from?

Different technicians use different eyelashes made from different products but we use only products from The Eyelash Emporium. Their eyelashes are made from PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate). This is a high performance engineering polymer. It’s more expensive, trickier to colour and manufacture. Eyelash extensions made from this material are soft, strong and have a gorgeous, natural, glossy sheen.

What happens when I have a patch test?

The technician will apply sticky tape and pads to hold down the lower lashes. They will then apply two small extensions to the corner of each eye, this should be done at least 24 hours before the appointment.

How are semi-permanent eyelashes attached?

Individual extensions are applied by (using tweezers) swiping through the glue, then swiped up the isolated natural lash three times then delicately and precisely positioned on top. Russian volume is attached in a similar way. The fan will be created then the base of the fan will be placed in the glue then straight to the natural lash and positioned.

Will my eyelash extensions fall out?

Your eyelash extensions will naturally shed with your own eyelashes. You will lose 2-5 lashes per eye each day, this is normal. You may notice it more with extensions because they’re a lot longer and darker in colour.

What glue do you use?

We use The Eyelash Emporium Master Artist Adhesive. It’s black in colour and has a drying time of just 1-2 seconds.

Can glue get in my eyes?

No, the glue never actually touches the skin or any part of your eye. When applying the extension I leave a 2mm gap between the extension and the skin.

How should I prepare my eyelashes before my appointment?

Come to your appointment with no eye make-up on. If you’re a contact lens wearer then bring your contact lens solution and your glasses to wear home. If possible, avoid caffeine for at least two hours before the appointment.

Can I go blind?

No, you cannot go blind from eyelash extensions because your eyes will be closed during the whole treatment.

Does having eyelash extensions hurt?

No, you’ll hardly feel a thing. Just relax, enjoy your time switching off and let us do the hard work.

Is it ok to go swimming with eyelash extensions?

Yes, as long as you don’t rub or pull at the lashes. Let the extensions mostly air dry, then brush through with your lash brush.

What insurance do you have?

We have Public Liability Insurance through Salon Gold.

Do semi-permanent eyelashes damage my natural eyelashes?

As long as they are applied correctly, they will never damage your natural lashes. They shed naturally with your own eyelashes. But you must remember that as soon as you leave the salon, the rest is down to you. Never pull or tug at your lashes. This may cause the lash to come our prematurely, causing lash damage.

How long are eyelash extensions?

We have a mixture of lengths to create lots of different looks. They vary from 8mm-16mm.

How long does it take to apply eyelash extensions?

Individual extensions take between an hour and a half and two hours. Hybrid extensions take between two and two and a half hours. Russian volume extensions take between two and a half hours and three hours.
